Running a Tombola Stall, at your Fete, Fair, Fundraiser.

Tombola Stall

Think of Tombola stalls and you will probably think of hot summer days, church fetes,

school fundraising events etc. Well, you think of these things, because they are a

successful way to raise much needed funds, to whatever the particular cause may be.

Often, cloakroom or raffle type tickets are used, to draw winners, or Tombola tickets,

more commonly known as pick-tickets on fairgrounds...You know the type, you rip a

sealed ticket open, to reveal whether you are a winner! (Yippee!) or a loser! (Oh well,

 never mind, have another try!).

Typically, 1 in 10 will be a winning ticket, so if you charged 25p - 30p a ticket, (of

course, you can charge more than this) then

your customers, are quite likely to buy 3 or 4 tickets at a time, we are roughly talking

about a £1 here, so you have the opportunity, to make a good profit for your cause and

your customers, will have a good chance to win a prize!

To run a Tombola stall, you just need a table or two. The more you can decorate it, the

more custom, you will attract. Put a cloth on the table, if you can get some bunting,

then it is only going to add to the overall effect.

Clear instructions/signs gives the customer re-assurance to spend. Make sure, you put

all of the prizes out and arrange them in a way, that makes them look attractive. The

more you have, the better the display...Try to think of it from the customers point of

view, what would entice you, to spend your money on the stall?

If you can get 2 or 3 people to run the stall, then so much the better. Forget your

inhibitions, you need to bring out your extrovert side here. Once you get going, you will

be amazed, how easily you can do it and you will start to enjoy yourselves. This will

show, by the amount of customers, you start to draw.

Roll up! Roll up! Come and have a try!...At the end of the day, your funds will be greatly

increased and your customers will have been entertained and many will have gone

home happy, with a prize!

Good luck!
